Located about nine miles south of Santa Cruz, Seaside is an exclusive resort-style beach neighborhood in Aptos. It’s one of six small villages that form Aptos, with a combined population of over 24,000, but you’ll enjoy a quiet, close-knit community in Seascape.
Seascape, built in the 1960s, lies between Capitola and the Pajaro River. It is the largest privately owned single development project in Aptos as it stretches along 45 acres of coastal bluffs.
Though built in the 1960s, the first condominiums in Aptos weren’t constructed until the 1990s. Each condominium is individually owned, providing the community with a laid-back ambiance and a sense of privacy. Seascape is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of a busy life. It’s considered an easy-going beach lifestyle ideal for retirees and families. It offers family-friendly activities that include parks and open green spaces.

Local Lifestyle
Because of the Seascape Beach Resort, the lifestyle is a laid back lavish environment for locals and tourists. Don’t mistake the easy-going lifestyle for boring. There is plenty to explore in Seascape. The Seascape Golf Club includes a learning center, clubhouse, and restaurants. Another popular place for activity is the Seascape Sports Club, which offers tennis, swimming, and fitness classes for residents to enjoy.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
Favorite eateries include the Palapas Restaurant, Seascape Foods, and Southpoint Taproom and Coffee, all within walking distance from most parts of the neighborhood.
Palapas Restaurant y Cantina serves coastal Mexican cuisine and opened in 1990. The restaurant owner drew inspiration from visiting Seascape with family during the 1980s. According to their website, they “transport guests to that golden era of umbrella drinks, tanning oil, and fresh seafood.”
Things to Do
Seascape is famous for all its clubs that offer residents a variety of sports and activities to keep busy and fit. Shop a variety of stores and eateries in Seascape Village.
Seascape Park sits across the bluffs above the ocean in the Rio Del Mar area. In it, you’ll find grassy areas, playgrounds for kids, and plenty of family-friendly or solo activities to do. In Seascape, there are plenty of hiking and biking trails to explore either at the beach or across other breathtaking nature areas if you’re in need of a breath of fresh air.
